AUSTIN — A memorial service for Crystal M. Holmquist will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Bethlehem Free Methodist Church in Austin. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay, Minn. Burial will be in Sawtooth Cemetery near Lax Lake, Minn.
Mrs. Holmquist, 81, died Saturday (Sept. 20, 2008).
Crystal Mae Evavold was born June 27, 1927, in Ashby, Minn. She married Howard Holmquist on June 13, 1948. In 1956, the couple moved to Silver Bay, where they reared their family. Following her husband’s death, Mrs. Holmquist moved to Austin in 2006 to be near family.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Carol) of Blaine, Minn., and Steve (Georgie) of Medina, Minn.; three daughters, Susan Patterson of Charlotte, N.C., Carol (Curtis) Simonson of Savage, Minn., and Sandy (Kevin) Anderson of Austin; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bernice (Bing) Olson of Ashby and Louise (Dick) Smith of Plymouth, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband and 11 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay, and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Sychar Lutheran Church.
