LA CRESCENT -- The funeral for Curtis E. "Curt" Bratager, 74, of La Crescent will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in La Crescent, the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Burial will be at Chapel of Devotion mausoleum in Woodlawn Cemetery in La Crosse, Wis.
Mr. Bratager died Wednesday (Aug. 14, 2002) at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Medical Center in La Crosse. He was born in rural Fillmore County on Jan. 2, 1928. He married Emily Eickhoff in Wykoff June 24, 1950. He worked for Ace Telephone Company for 35 years, retiring as operations manager in 1993. He was a member of the La Crescent Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years, the La Crescent Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Gloria (Dewey) Severson of La Crescent; two sons, James of Tomah, Wis., and Mark (Linda) of La Crescent; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris (Art) Bender of Wykoff. He was preceded in death by twin great-grandsons.
Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home in La Crescent from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
