CRESCO, Iowa — The funeral for Dale E. Arnold will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco, Iowa. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cresco.
Mr. Arnold, 88, died Saturday (Nov. 22, 2008) at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Dale Erwin Arnold was born Sept. 29, 1920, on a farm north of Burr Oak, Iowa. He attended rural school and stayed on the farm to help his father until being drafted in 1942. He served in Hawaii and the Philippines during World War II. Following his service, he went to work for John Burgess, and with his help got a job in the creamery, the Cresco Creamery, Farmers Co-op Creamery, and the Wisconsin Dairies. He retired in 1989 after 42 years.
On June 8, 1950, Mr. Arnold married Corrine Burgess at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kevin (Ann) of Rochester; a daughter, Karen Gonzalez of Rochester; five grandchildren, Marta and Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Susan (Scott) Chutka, and Michael and Matthew Arnold; three sisters, Carmen Thompson of East Moline, Ill., Norma Engler of Eldridge, Iowa, and Janice Moeller of Davenport, Iowa; two brothers, Duayne (Marion) of Davenport and Robert (Mary) of Eldridge. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Neil, Darrell and Arland.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
