ROCHESTER -- A memorial service for Darold W. Powell will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Unity Church in Rochester with the Rev. Joyce Young officiating.
Mr. Powell, 79, of Rochester, died Friday (May 17, 2002) at Bear Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center in Rochester of complications of Alzheimer's disease.
He was born Aug. 28, 1922, in Valdese, N.C. He served in the Marines during World War II. On Nov. 5, 1946, he married Margaret Rogers in North Carolina. Mr. Powell lived in Milwaukee from 1948 to 1992. He moved to Rochester in 1996. He was an inspector for General Electric Medical Systems for 43 years. He enjoyed airplanes, photography and travel.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Powell of Rochester; a granddaughter; two sisters and a brother. His wife, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation or reviewal.
