BYRON -- The funeral for Daryl Vernon Butturff will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ranfranz &; Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, with the Rev. Brad Lindberg officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
Mr. Butturff, 67, of Byron, formerly of Rochester, died Friday (Feb. 24, 2006) at his home.
He was born March 1, 1938, in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1956. He married Eleanor Royce in 1956. She died in 1980. He worked as a truck driver and part-time farmer. In 1970 he began working for U.S. West and stayed with the company until his retirement. On May 16, 1983, he married Sherry Tarras in Winona. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, the Minnesota Vikings and spending time at his cabin.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Olson of Ottumwa, Iowa and Linda Nickel of Byron; a son, Bruce (Yvonne) of Stewartville; a half-sister, Frances Christensen of Lebanon, Ore.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd (Sand) of Harwick, Minn. and special friend Jean Rooney of Byron. He was preceded in death by his two wives.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Ranfranz &; Vine Funeral Homes and an hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
