WELCH — The funeral for Daryle Lee Williams will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, with the Rev. Gordon Trellstad officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, with military honors.
Mr. Williams, 49, of Welch, died Thursday (Feb. 15, 2007) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Jan. 18, 1958, in Waterloo, Iowa, and graduated from Tripoli High School in 1977. He enlisted in the Navy and served from July 26, 1978, to July 20, 1981. He married Kristy Quass on July 19, 1985, in Waverly, Iowa. The couple lived in Tripoli, Iowa, until 1986, when they moved to Red Wing. Throughout his life, he did general farm labor, and after moving to Red Wing, he worked at Treasure Island and at Wal-Mart. He enjoyed working and tinkering on cars, putting together model cars and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two stepchildren, Chad Meyer of Red Wing and Cory Meyer of New Hampton, Iowa; his father, Llewellyn of Tripoli, Iowa; two sisters, Wanda (Vern) Williams-Tiedt of Dunkerton, Iowa, and Victoria (Ernie) Hesse of Denver, Iowa; and a brother, Lew (Sheryl) Williams of Welch. He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and an hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
