David J. Kuhlmann — Rochester

ROCHESTER — The funeral for David J. Kuhlmann will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Scott Schilbe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Kuhlmann, 42, of Rochester, died Sunday (June 17, 2007) in Buffalo County, Wis.

David John Kuhlmann was born Aug. 20, 1964, in Rochester. He attended Mayo High School and graduated from Gunnison High School in Gunnison, Colo., in 1982. He moved back to Rochester and worked for Crenlo for 10 years. He then attended the Vo-Tech and had worked for Himec Inc., since 1993 as a sheet metal worker. He married Tina Varwig on Sept. 29, 1990, in Rochester. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and the outdoors. He also coached youth soccer, baseball and football and was involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lucas and Andrew, both of Rochester; two daughters, Kristina (Lucas) Christenson of Eagan, Minn., and Lauren Kuhlmann of Rochester; his parents, Elmer and Marlene Kuhlmann; four brothers, Richard (Lori) of Hollandale, Gary and Kris, both of Lompoc, Calif., and Mike (Cheryl) of Polson, Mont.; and two sisters, Sue Peabody of Lompoc and Dawn (Mike) Cronk of Meridian, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, and an hour before the service Friday at the church.


Memorials are suggested to a trust fund for his children that has been set up at Wells Fargo.
