David P. Leuer -- Austin

AUSTIN -- A funeral Mass for David P. Leuer will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin, with the Revs. William Becker and Paul Nelson co-officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Austin.

Mr. Leuer, 65, of Austin, an area farmer, died early Wednesday morning (March 19, 2003) at his home.

He was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Aurora, Ill., grew up there and graduated from St. Edward High School. In 1962 he married Carol Thomas. They lived in Sugar Grove, Ill., until moving to Austin in 1976. Mr. Leuer was active in Queen of Angels Parish and held many offices.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Kris (Al) Beatrez of Prior Lake, Minn., Suzanne (John) Rachwal of St. Louis, Mo., Elizabeth (Rodney) Bailey of Austin and Meg (Mike) Richtman of Lewiston; two sons, Tony (Cathy) of Austin and Peter (Stephanie) of Madison, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; and four brothers, John (Marie) of Sugar Grove, Ill., Howard (Carol) of Indianapolis, Tom (Marilyn) of Aurora, Ill., and Joe (Toni) of Bush, La. A brother preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m. Sunday.


Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
