Davis has many bad ideas on taxes

I am very concerned about Dr. Brian Davis’ support for a new, 23 percent national sales tax.

Dr. Davis says that he would not support tax cuts for middle-class families but should keep President Bush’s tax cuts for millionaires. And now he thinks a new, 23 percent national sales tax is a good idea. Well, it’s not. It’s a terrible idea. Southern Minnesotans simply can’t afford to pay a new 23 percent sales tax on everything we buy. Sales taxes hit the poor and middle class harder than the wealthy, because the poor and middle class spend a greater percentage of their income on necessities.

Tim Walz has been working in Congress to get tax cuts for southern Minnesota’s middle-class families. That’s why I’m supporting Tim Walz for Congress.
