2007 – One year ago

Christ United Methodist Church will celebrate the congregation’s 150th anniversary.  Christ Church (formerly First Methodist) is in its fifth building, counting the reconstruction of one house of worship severely damaged in the 1883 tornado.

1983 – 25 years ago

Greyhound bus service has not been restored in Rochester. The stoppage began two weeks ago when Greyhound employees went on strike.

Paul Fogarty, a Rochester artist, will display his pottery at the ninth annual Festival of the Masters, at Walt Disney World Village in Florida.

1958 – 50 years ago

An estimated 350 people attended the dedication ceremony for the new $335,000 addition to Mazeppa High School. The one-story structure contains 14 classrooms.

The Kahler Corp. will open a free public skating rink — "Kahler’s Winter Wonderland" — in the park adjacent to the Damon Hotel.
