Members from IBM, the Civil Defense Auxiliary Police Unit and the Rochester Police Department are completing the advanced first aid course taught by Red Cross instructor Carl Hooper.
Frank Everett, Rochester fire chief, will speak at the noon meeting of the Rotary Club in the Kahler Hotel. His topic will be "Fire Safety in the Face of City Growth.

1933 – 75 years ago
A total of 705 Rochester and Olmsted County men will be taken from the ranks of the jobless and given employment on projects to be financed by the federal civil works administration.
Exhausted by overwork, Dr. W.A. Allen, Rochester’s 99-year old physician, was removed by friends from his apartment to the East Side Hospital, where he will be kept quiet and given a chance to rest. Dr. Allen has gained widespread distinction as being the oldest active practicing physician in the country.
