Deadlines fast approaching
Several Farm Service Agency programs have deadlines coming up.
Direct and Counter Cyclical Program (DCP)
Sign-up for the DCP program started on Jan. 23 and will end June 1. If you miss the June 1 deadline, procedure does allow the County Committee to approve late filed applications till Aug. 1. Sign-up is an annual enrollment so producers have to complete the enrollment process with the FSA Office yearly.
Average Crop Revenue Election Program (ACRE)
Sign-up for the ACRE program started on Jan. 23 and will also end June 1. If you miss the June 1 deadline, procedure does allows the County Committee to approve late filed applications till Aug. 1. Producers have to annually enroll their farms into the ACRE program every year after the year they made the ACRE Election.
Producers have until June 1 to make an ACRE Election for farms that are currently not covered under the ACRE provisions. Producers can make an ACRE Election in any crop year from 2009 through 2012.
ACRE Production Evidence
Producers who "Elected" the ACRE provisions in 2011 on farms they operated, have until July 15 to provide production evidence to the FSA Office. Evidence for crop years 2006 through 2011 will need to be provided by this deadline to avoid getting county plug yields. Producers who made the ACRE Election in prior years have until July 15 to provide our office with crop year 2011 production data. Producers will be allowed to use Crop Insurance production data.
Producers and landowner who have CRP contracts that will be expiring this year will have until Oct. 1 to re-enroll those contract acres. You will be notified in advance of your contract expiration and what is needed to re-enroll. Please contact your local FSA Office to start the re-enrollment process before it is too late. There is no procedure to allow a re-enrollment after Oct. 1.
