Delano A. ‘Dano’ Riles — Austin

AUSTIN — A memorial service for Delano A. "Dano" Riles will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, with the Rev. Joe Fogal officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin, with American Legion Post 91 providing military rites.

Delano Alberto Riles, 45, of Austin, died unexpectedly Saturday (Sept. 13, 2008).

He was born Sept. 12, 1963, to Alberto and Patricia DeLaCruz. He graduated from Austin High School in 1982 and went to work in the construction industry. Mr. Riles had a passion and talent for cooking, loved listening to music, and had a caring nature for children. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

He is survived by a daughter, Shawna Riles of Kenosha, Wis.; his father, Paul (Cathy) Riles of Plymouth, Iowa; and two brothers, Dennis (Jessica) Riles of Hudson, Wis., and Dominic Riles of Rochester. Other survivors include two nieces, Robin and Isabel Riles; a nephew, Elijah Riles; and a great nephew, Cayden Riles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Opsahl) Forslund; and his grandparents, Howard and Hazel Riles, and Theadore and Leona Opsahl.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at Mayer Funeral Home.
