Delores M. Mathwig — Austin

AUSTIN — The funeral Mass for Delores M. Mathwig will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin, with the Rev. Joe Fogal officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Bancroft, Iowa.

Mrs. Mathwig, 81, of Austin, died Sunday (March 16, 2008) at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.

Delores Mary VonBank was born Oct. 20, 1926, in Swea City, Iowa. She graduated from St. John’s Catholic School in Bancroft. For many years, she raised and showed purebred Weimaraner dogs. She also did volunteer work with the Senior Citizens Center, Knights of Columbus, Golden Age Club, and the Catholic Foresters.

Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Herron of San Antonio, Texas, and Agnes (Marvin) Kosbab of Fairmont, Minn.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, with a CCW Rosary at 5 p.m. and wake service at 6:30 p.m. Friends may also call an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
