GOODHUE — The funeral for Derek J. Skordahl will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing, with the Rev. Randall Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing.
Mr. Skordahl, 36, of Goodhue, died Wednesday (Nov. 12, 2008), of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Derek Jason Skordahl was born Nov. 26, 1971, in Red Wing. He attended Sunnyside and Twin Bluff Junior High, and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1990. He worked at Super Valu and DBI Capital Safety. He moved to Bloomington, Ill., and married Daisy Braden; they later divorced. He was a member of United Lutheran Church, and enjoyed playing darts, sports, especially NASCAR, dogs, and his Rottweilers, Ivy and Thor.
Survivors include his parents, David and Yvonne (Wichser) Skordahl of Red Wing; a brother, Lonnie of Goodhue; aunts, uncles and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, and an hour prior to the service at the church.
