DFL endorses Tupper, Peterson


Michael Tupper was endorsed by the DFL Party for Senate District 29. His name and the name of Mary Petersson, the DFL chairwoman for the district, were incorrect in a story on Page 2B Tuesday.

The DFL Party on Saturday endorsed candidates for the new legislative District 29, which encompasses the northern half of Rochester, northwest Olmsted County and all of Dodge County.

Byron Michael Tupper of Rochester was endorsed for the Senate seat. Rodney Peterson was endorsed for House District 29A seat.


Both are running for open seats created by Minnesota's redistricting.

The DFL Party is expecting to endorse a candidate for House District 29B at a later date, according to Mary Peterson, the party's chairwoman for Senate District 29. Rep. Fran Bradley, R-Rochester, is seeking re-election to the seat, which encircles northern Rochester.

The Republican Party will have its endorsing convention for District 29 on Wednesday night.
