Even though Rhino's just opened last spring, the location of the eatery is probably familiar to frequent visitors to Lanesboro. The place used to be known as the Trail Inn Cafe. But owner Kim Reimann, after taking some time off to have a baby, decided to change the name and approach and start fresh this year.
"We totally remodeled it, got rid of the burgers and fries and did fresh subs and salads," Reimann said. "We kept the homemade pizza, which we make from scratch, including the dough."
Because Lanesboro is a tourist town, Reimann said, lunchtime tends to be a grab-and-go meal, with subs, salads and pizza slices most popular. In the evening, she said, broasted chicken dinners and full pizzas are most popular.
As for treats, Rhino's has the only soft-serve ice cream in Lanesboro, according to Reimann.
