RUSHFORD -- The funeral for Dolores Lorraine "Dollie" Feine will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart, with the Rev. Frederick Buth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Feine, 83, of Rushford, a former area farm homemaker, died Monday (Sept. 8, 2003) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Dolores Lorraine Mierau was born Oct. 5, 1919, at her parents' home in Winona County and grew up in the Money Creek area, where she attended school. In her teens, she was a nanny in the Hart and Winona areas. During World War II, she lived in Milwaukee and was an inspector in an Allis Chalmers supercharger plant. On Dec. 15, 1945, she married Louis Feine. They farmed in the Hart area until 1978, when they retired and moved to Rushford. Mrs. Feine was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart and its ladies aid, had been a member of Band Mothers and a 4-H leader, and had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She moved to Good Shepherd Lutheran Apartments in July 2001.
Survivors include three sons, Dale (Lori) of San Diego, Roy (Pat) of Blaine, Minn., and Thomas W. (Ellen) of Rushford; two daughters, Marcia (Dale) VanVreede of Maple Grove, Minn., and Shelly (Craig) Cornell of Spring Valley; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin (Marcie) Mierau of Rushford; and three sisters, Arlene (Elmer) Todd of Winona, Barbara Vander Zanden of Kaukauna, Wis., and Loretta Kahoun of Winona. She was preceded in death by her husband, a great-granddaughter, a sister and two brothers.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes-Rushford Chapel and an hour before the service Thursday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
