ORONOCO -- The funeral for Donald C. "Donnie" Wittlief will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco, with the Rev. Paul Baldauf officiating. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery.
Mr. Wittlief, 67, a lifelong Oronoco resident, died Monday (July 21, 2003) at his home.
He was born March 9, 1936, in Kings Park, Olmsted County. On Sept. 7, 1958, he married Beverly Stolp in Oronoco. Mr. Wittlief was employed as a carpenter for 38 years and for the past 10 years was a custodian at Mayo Clinic. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco and a 45-year member of the Carpenters Union. He was an antiques dealer and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dawn (Robert) Miller of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and DeAnn Wittlief of Pine Island; a son, Jeffrey, of Mount Horeb, Wis.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Marney (Raymond) King of Rochester. His twin brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ranfranz &; Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
