ROCHESTER -- Private family services are planned for Dorothy E. Laging, with the Revs. Larry Tantow and James A. Mattson officiating. The body has been donated to Mayo Clinic.
Mrs. Laging, 79, of 1857 181⁄2; St. N.W., a retired nursing assistant, died Monday (Sept. 8, 2003) at her home.
Dorothy Elaine Boelter was born Feb. 27, 1924, in LeRoy and grew up in Spring Valley. After graduating from Spring Valley High School in 1942, she worked for Minnesota Mining Co. in St. Paul. On Oct. 17, 1949, she married Clifford W. Laging in Spring Valley, and they farmed in the Spring Valley area until moving to Rochester in 1958. She was a certified nursing assistant at Maple Manor Nursing Home until her retirement. Her husband worked at IBM. She was a member of Zumbro Lutheran Church and the American Tree Farm Association.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jean Laging of Minneapolis; and a sister, Wilma Esklund of Spring Valley. A son and a brother preceded her in death.
Ranfranz &; Vine Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation or reviewal.
