DODGE CENTER — The funeral for Dorothy N. Loquai will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Concord Church of Christ near West Concord, with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery.
Mrs. Loquai, 85, of Dodge Center, died Friday (Nov. 7, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Dorothy Nelson was born June 30, 1923, in Concord Township, Dodge County. She grew up near Concord, then moved with her family to West Concord, where she graduated from high school. She then worked for Lawler’s Clothing Store in Rochester. On Sept. 14, 1945, she married Forrest Loquai in Concord. They farmed in Milton Township, Dodge County, for many years. Her husband died in October 1979. Mrs. Loquai continued to live on the farm up until her death.
She enjoyed many things, especially knitting, and made hundreds of mittens for Care and Share, as well as family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and bird watching, was a longtime member of Concord Church of Christ and the Fairview Care Center Women’s Auxiliary, and was a member of the Community Homemakers Group.
She is survived by three daughters, Muriel (Dan) French of Dodge Center, Marjorie (Chuck) Andrist of Pine Island and Barbara Loquai of Owatonna; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Ferguson of Fargo, N.D. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Lillith (Gibbs) Nelson.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Michaelson Funeral Home in West Concord, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
The family requests memorials to Concord Church of Christ or a charity of the donor’s choice.
