Douglas John Murphy -- Glenville

GLENVILLE -- A; funeral Mass for Douglas John Murphy will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin, with the Rev. Dale Tupper officiating. Burial will be in Our Savior's Danish Lutheran Cemetery in Myrtle.

Mr. Murphy, 57, of Glenville, died Thursday (May 12, 2005) at Austin Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Austin. On Jan. 21, 2000, he married Terri Fitzpatrick. Mr. Murphy worked many years at Queens in Albert Lea and was owner of Thoroughbred Carpets.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Jennifer Murphy of Austin, Tina Thorson, Aimee Thorson, Amanda (Victor) Gonzales, all of Minnesota; five sons, Scott (Andrea) Murphy of Walnut Grove, Mo., Chad (Jenny) Thorson, Trever Thorson and Ben Thorson, all of Minnesota, and Allan Carey, of Florida; 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Keller and Jeannine (Jerry) Kellogg, both of Austin; and two brothers, Eugene Murphy of Austin and Dale (Judy) Murphy of Albert Lea.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elton and DeWayne.


Friends may call at Mayer Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday.
