A Rochester woman was cited for driving after her license was revoked after she crashed into a building at Essex Park Apartments Sunday morning.

Members of the Rochester Fire Department were sent to 1027 41st NW just before 11:20 a.m. Sunday for a report of a vehicle that crashed into a building and ended up in a bedroom of a first floor apartment.

The occupants of the apartment were in the adjacent living room area. One of the people in the apartment did suffer minor injuries caused by flying debris, but was not taken to the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, identified by Rochester police as 33-year-old Mishawn Scott, was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Rochester police Capt. Casey Moilanen said Scott told police that her brakes were not working properly and she attempted to apply the car's emergency brake without success. She was cited for driving after revocation.
