ADAMS -- The funeral for Earl N. Weness, 95, of Adams will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams, the Rev. Shari A. Mason officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Weness died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 2004) in Adams Health Care Center. He was born Sept. 8, 1909, in Adams Township. He graduated from Adams High School in 1927 and began farming a mile north of Adams. He married Harriet Celia Knutson on Sept. 20, 1942, in Little Cedar Lutheran Church. He farmed with his family for nearly 50 years. The couple moved to Adams in the late 1970s. He had been a township officer and lifelong member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church, where he served in a variety of offices.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Erlin (Jean) of Worthington and Roger (Jan) of Adams; a daughter, Janet (Jeffrey) Severson of Mankato; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth, of Adams. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Adams Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
