East Grand Forks Cabela's honored

East Grand Forks, Minn., -- Cabela's in East Grand Forks received recognition last week from founder and namesake Dick Cabela for the fastest sales growth in February among all the company's stores.

That means it gets to keep the bronze antelope trophy it received a month ago, also for fastest sales growth -- at least until another Cabela's branch dislodges it.

The antelope, an agile prairie animal, is meant to symbolize fast sales growth.

February sales in East Grand Forks were 34 percent higher than in February 2001. The month before that, sales grew 27 percent over January 2001.

Cabela said none of his company's six other stores has ever gotten the sales award two months in a row.
