KASSON — The funeral for Edith M. Hill will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson, with the Rev. Marie Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery.
Mrs. Hill, 89, formerly of Kasson, died of natural causes Sunday (Nov. 16, 2008) at the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.
Edith M. Card was born March 13, 1919, in Scranton, Pa. She spent her childhood in Scranton and later Johnson City, N.Y. On Sept. 30, 1941, she married Aaron W. Hill in Johnson City. They lived in various places in upstate New York until coming to Rochester in 1956. They later made their home in Mantorville and then Kasson.
Mrs. Hill worked in assembly at Waters-Conley and worked many years in housekeeping at the Holiday Inn Downtown in Rochester. Her husband worked at IBM; he preceded her in death in 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Sylvia) of St. Helens, Ore., and Kenneth (Karen) of Mantorville; three daughters, Beverly (John) Ambro of Barrett, Minn., Shirley (Marvin) Walker of Tigard, Ore., and Linda Holloway of Okeechobee, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson and a sister.

Friends may call two hours before the service Friday at the church.
The family prefers memorials.
