Edna Marie Norstad -- Kenyon

KENYON -- The funeral for Edna Marie Norstad will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, with the Rev. Arthur Sharot officiating. Burial will be in Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Mrs. Norstad, 85, of Cannon Falls, formerly of Kenyon, died Tuesday evening (July 22, 2003) at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls.

Edna Marie Paul was born Dec. 14, 1917, in Kenyon. On Oct. 14, 1938, she married Orlando C. Norstad at the Vasa Chapel. They farmed in Skunk Hollow of Leon Township, Goodhue County, from 1940 until moving into Cannon Falls in 1995. Mrs. Norstad was a cook and baker at local restaurants and a cook for Cannon Falls schools at Vasa and had been a 4-H club leader. She was a member of the Pollyanna's homemakers group, St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church and its quilters group, and was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo and its ladies aid. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and quilting.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, RoseAnn (James) Lindsey of Spokane, Wash., Kristi (Bob) Fuller of Portland, Ore., and Deb Norstad of Cannon Falls; six sons, Orlando Jr. (Kathy) of St. Cloud, Gary (Mary) of Dodge Center, Jim (Bonnie) of Rushford, Bob (Martha) of Lanesboro, and Steve (Linda) and Jarle (Debra), both of Cannon Falls; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edwin (Lorraine) Paul of Austin; and two sisters, Martha Draper of Austin and Selma Tolzman of Orlando, Fla. Five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls and an hour before the service Friday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
