AUSTIN -- A memorial service for Elmer James Yaroshek will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Donald Budd officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91.
Mr. Yaroshek, 78, of Albert Lea, formerly of Austin, died Monday (April 22, 2002) at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea.
He was born July 16, 1923, in Austin, and graduated from Austin Central High School in 1941. He was in the Marines from 1943 to 1945, and served with the 3rd Marine Division in the Pacific. On Dec. 26, 1947, he married to Ora Lucille Mahachek at the Methodist Church parsonage in Austin. They lived in Austin until moving to Albert Lea in November 1997. Mr. Yaroshek worked at Hormel Foods Corp. for many years and retired in 1978.
His wife survives.
Friends may call an hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.
