Elvia Antonia Rivas de Sabio — Rochester

ROCHESTER — The funeral Mass for Elvia Antonia Rivas de Sabio will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Mrs. Sabio, 94, formerly of Rochester, died Friday (May 9, 2008) in Winston-Salem.

She was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Caracas, Venezuela. She was known as "Bela" to family and friends, and was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.

She is survived by three children, Victor Sabio of Augusta, Ga., Mercedes Sabio of Winston-Salem, and Hernan (Elsa) Sabio of Winston-Salem, formerly of Rochester; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

There will be a Vigil service at 7 p.m. today at Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, Reynolda Road Chapel, in Winston-Salem.
