Escaped sex offender to return to state

ST. PETER, Minn. -- Nicollet County deputies will head to Kansas City to bring sex offender Michael Dale Benson back to Minnesota within 10 days, Sheriff Dave Lange said Wednesday.

Benson escaped from the state Security Hospital in St. Peter on April 15 and was arrested May 2 when a bartender recognized him after seeing him profiled on "America's Most Wanted."
