PLAINVIEW -- The funeral for Esther Louise Rossin will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, with the Rev. Terrill Bramstedt officiating. Burial will be in Elgin Cemetery.
Miss Rossin, 94, a longtime resident of Elgin, died of natural causes Tuesday (Aug. 29, 2006) at St. Isidore Health Care Center in Plainview.
Esther Louise Rossin was born Aug. 27, 1912, in Ward, S.D. Her family moved to the Elgin area in 1920, and she went to Elgin School. She helped on her parents' farm west of Elgin until 1951, when the family moved to Elgin. She was a master gardener and active in the Legion auxiliary. She enjoyed hosting and entertaining friends and family. She was also a quilter and enjoyed cards. She moved to Plainview in 2005.
There are no immediate survivors. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and a sister.
Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
