ZUMBROTA -- The funeral for Eunice Marie Quast will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, with the Rev. Eugene Hasselquist officiating. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery.
Mrs. Quast, 80, of Red Wing, formerly of the Zumbrota area, died Saturday (Oct. 23, 2004) at Regions Hospital in St. Paul of injuries received in an auto accident Sept. 12.
Eunice Marie Lother was born Oct.15, 1924, in Goodhue County and attended area rural schools. On Nov. 24, 1945, she married Harold Quast at Grace Lutheran Church in rural Goodhue. She worked at J.C. Penney for 22 years, and she and her husband owned and operated Main Street Standard Station and then Bayside Tavern for 30 years before retiring in 1991. Her husband died July 29, 2000. She enjoyed going to a lake cabin, playing cards and visiting.
Survivors include three brothers, David (Helen) Lother and Kenneth (Alice) Lother, both of Zumbrota, and Bob (Millie) Koenig of Maple Grove; four sisters, Verniel (Henry) Swiggum of Cannon Falls, Val Nesseth of Little Canada, Minn., Audrey (Russell) Nichols of Mazeppa and Carol Vnuk of Roseville, Minn. A brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and an hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
