Mrs. Kuester
WABASHA -- The funeral for Evelyn Klinger Kuester will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pepin United Methodist Church in Pepin, Wis., with the Rev. Kennedy Annor officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin.
Mrs. Kuester, 93, of Wabasha, formerly of Pepin, died Friday (Sept. 26, 2003) at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center in Wabasha.
Evelyn Brockway was born Jan. 22, 1910, in Le Center, Minn., and graduated from Le Center High School in 1927. She attended a year of teacher's college and taught in rural schools for two years before marrying Harold L. Klinger May 15, 1930, in St. Peter, Minn. They lived in Janesville, Minn., St. Cloud, Minn., and Ellsworth, Wis., before moving to Pepin in 1947. They owned and operated the Pepin Herald newspaper. Her husband died in 1966. She moved to Redwood Falls, Minn., and married Willard Kuester in 1979 in New Ulm. He died in 1982; she moved to Wabasha.
She was active in the church and its Women's Society.

She is survived by a son, Don (Harriett) Klinger of Wabasha; a daughter, Jackie Biever of Reads Landing; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at the church two hours before the service. Memorials are preferred to the church. Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha is in charge of arrangements.
