MASON CITY —John Sjolinder, of Mason City, has joined Iowa State University Extension in Cerro Gordo County to develop and coordinate local Extension educational programs and to provide leadership.
"The skill and expertise that John brings to this position will provide Cerro Gordo County and the region with tremendous potential to address various issues," said Gary Hall, ISU Extension regional director.
Sjolinder will collaborate with staff, Extension council members and local partners to identify programming needs and opportunities. He will work directly with the county's Master Gardener volunteers, Master Conservationist volunteers and other partners.
Other duties include developing Extension programs for 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Center for Industrial Research and Service, Community and Economic Development and Human Sciences. He will work closely with neighboring counties to address issues of healthy environments, families and communities.
Sjolinder has an educational background within Community Colleges.
