Face off

Post-Bulletin sports writers Ben Pherson and Jason Feldman write a blog called "Faceoff," which can be accessed through www.postbulletin.com or directly at postbulletin.typepad.com/faceoff.

Feldman and Pherson write about the sports topics of the day and sometimes venture outside of the sports world.

"Faceoff" is updated daily.

Here is an excerpt from a recent post:

PHERSY: Re-signing Brent Burns is a huge move for the Wild. I, too, like how Burns plays the game. Unlike many of you Faceoff rubes, though, I have not been impressed with Burns so far this season. He’s trying too hard to be that physical guy people saw at the end of last season. He’s looking for the big hit too often, and that’s forcing him out of position from time to time. I still think he’s the team’s best defenseman.

I’m more thrilled than anything by the fact that the Wild actually dished out some money and didn’t low-ball the guy. Any more holdouts could spell trouble for the organization. They’ve got all these young guys who they’ve developed into good NHL players. Don’t let some other team see all the benefits. Keep the young guys at the X!!!!
