FAMILYTIME CALENDAR Friday, May 27

Owl hike at Forestville Mystery Cave State Park will start at 8:30 p.m. Meet at the amphitheater for a brief presentation, then head out on a night hike to call to the owls. Bring a flashlight and shoes for hiking.

Saturday, May 28

Forestville Mystery Cave State Park programs include: Overlook hike at 10 a.m. Meet at the picnic shelter for a walk to observe the vegetation and park landscape; Nature Games for kids at 3 p.m. Meet at the picnic shelter; Mammals at 9:15 p.m. Meet at the amphitheater for a slide show about Forestville's mammals.

Film "The Mouse and the Motorcycle'' will be shown at 10:30 a.m. at Rochester Public Library auditorium.

Joshua's Journey: A Black Cowboy Rides the Chisholm Trail, a new exhibit at Minnesota Children's Museum in St. Paul, will be open today and runs through Sept. 18. Feeding the black bear will be at 1 p.m. at Oxbow Park.

Sunday, May 29

Whitewater State Park Naturalist programs include: Tweets and Treats from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Visitor Center's feeding station; Snakes of the Blufflands from 11 a.m. to noon. Want to catch a Tadpole? from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. All programs are free and begin at the Whitewater Valley Visitor Center.

Forestville Mystery Cave State Park programs include: Junior Park Naturalist at 3 p.m. for kids 8 to 14. Meet at the picnic shelter. Children must be accompanied by an adult; Our Nesting Birds at 9:15 p.m. Meet at the amphitheater.

Monday, May 30

Dam Hike at Chester Woods Park will start at 11 a.m. at the kiosk by the boat ramp. The two-mile hike will include a picnic at the scenic Dam Overlook with hot dogs, chips and Kool-Aid. Register with park staff by calling 287-2624. No charge for the hike; however, a $5 vehicle pass is required to enter the park.

Storytime Adventures! is offered at 11 a.m. each Monday and Wednesday at Barnes &; Noble Apache Mall.

Story hour takes place at 10:30 a.m. and crafts projects for preschoolers at 11 a.m. Monday at the Toy &; ABC Zone in Miracle Mile Shopping Center.
