FallCon Comic Book convention will be held today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Education Building at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul. Admission: $9 adults (good for both days); children 9 and younger free.
Film "Cricket in Times Square" will be shown at 10:30 a.m. in the Rochester Public Library auditorium.
Whitewater State Park Naturalist Programs include: Hawk Walk from 10 a.m. to noon. Binoculars and bird brochures will be available. This is a moderately strenuous walk to Chimney Rock. Minnesota Wildlife in Fall will be presented at Oxbow Park at 1 p.m. Come tour Zollman Zoo and learn first-hand how Minnesota animals adapt to the rigors of the winter season. Recommended for all ages.

Halloween Warm-Up will take place tonight and Saturday from 6:50 p.m. to 9:10 p.m. at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center, 1304 21st St. N.E. in Austin. Cost is $6. Every 10 minutes a group of 25 people will walk into the forest to meet assorted spirits. The event is appropriate for children age 4-11. Tickets: (507) 437-7519.
Night hike will begin at 8 p.m. at Oxbow Park. Spend a spectacular autumn night taking in the sounds and smells of Oxbow's wooded hillsides. This non-threatening excursion into the forest and glens will treat your senses and soothe your peace of mind. Wear warm clothing, something to sit on the forest floor with, and a buddy. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
