Faribault festival celebrates the blues

FARIBAULT-- Tree Frog Music Festival celebrates "The Year of the Blues" with several blues artists at the annual music festival Sept. 13 and 14 at Teepee Tonka Park in Faribault.

Saturday's music features Chicago blues legend Lonnie Brooks and blues by Renee Austin.

The music lineup for Sept. 13 also includes Brian Keenan, Bob Cloutier, Free Range Pickin', High Risk, Lehto and Wright, Dan Schwartz, Mary Louse Knutson Trio, Jack Norton and the Wizard Oil Vaudeville Company, Paul Metsa and Sonny Earl, and the Murphy Brothers Band.

Sunday at the music fest features Counterpoints, the Flathead Cats, Jerry Kosak, Impulse, Gaelic Tribe, Dave Moore, Moses Oakland Quartet and Mike Hilderbrandt and the Over and Back Band.

Original art and craft exhibits, children's activities, food vendors and a beer garden also will be at the fest from noon to dusk, rain or shine, each day.

Admission buttons are $10 in advance, available in Faribault at HyVee, the Faribault Community Center, Carriage House Liquors, Eastman Music and JavaLive Community Coffee House and in Northfield at The Art Store. Buttons are $12 at the gate, good for both days.
