Farm bill is focus of visit

U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton, D-Minn., will visit a Rochester area farm Friday to discuss farm policy.

The Senate recently passed its version of the farm bill, which is headed for conference committee. Dayton serves on the Senate Agriculture Committee.

Dayton says he will use the meeting at the Kevin Connelly farm to update farmers on what's included in the Senate version of the bill.

The meeting is set for 3 p.m.

To reach the Connelly farm from Rochester, go 4.5 miles west on Highway 14 to County Road 3. Go south 1.4 miles on County Road 3 to the farm, which is located on the west side of the road and marked with a sign.
