OSTRANDER -- The funeral for Fern E. Nagel will be 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander, with the Rev. Jane Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in Greenleafton Cemetery in Ostrander.
Mrs. Nagel, 79, of Ostrander, died Friday (July 19, 2002) at her home.
Fern Johnson was born June 14, 1923 in Bloomfield Township, Fillmore County, and attended school through the eighth-grade. On Nov. 29, 1947, she married Fay Nagel at the Greenleafton parsonage. He died in 1998. She enjoyed parades, dancing, animals and polka music.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne (Sheila) of Ostrander and Randy (Sherry) and Gary (Kathy), both of Spring Valley; three daughters, Susan (Edwin) Fought of Chester, Iowa, Gail (Greg) Rendahl of Ostrander and Julie (Ken) Ingersol of Falkville, Ala; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Francis Kruegel of Preston.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in Spring Valley and one hour before the service Monday at the church.
