Post-Bulletin, Austin MN
An Austin man’s recreational vehicle was destroyed by fire Sunday, likely in connection to its furnace, Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said.
Brian Klapperick, 49, had just moved the RV to a new site and started its furnace shortly before noon, Amazi said. He then left the RV to find leveling blocks for it, she said.
Upon returning, Klapperick found the RV on fire.
Deputies and Rose Creek firefighters responded and found the RV engulfed in flames, Amazi said. About $18,000 in damage was sustained.

Another nearby RV also was damaged from the fire but the sheriff didn’t have a damage estimate for it.
