A fire destroyed a home in Northeast Rochester Friday, June 11, 2021, evening.
About 7:30 p.m., a 911 call from a passerby reported smoke near Bowlocity Entertainment Center on North Broadway.
The fire was at a mobile home at Rocky Creek Estates, 627 Rocky Creek Dr. NE. The home with a three-season porch and a truck parked in a driveway were fully engulfed as fire crews arrived on scene.
All of the occupants of the the home were out of the home. Due to the size of the fire, the decision was made to fight it from the outside until the main body of the fire was knocked down. Crews then entered the home to extinguish what remained.
The home and vehicle are considered a total loss. The siding of a home next door was melted from the heat. Altogether four fire engines and one truck were used to put down the fire.
The four occupants of the home were outside as crews came on scene, according to Rochester Fire Motor Operator Ben Davis, and were being assisted by the American Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
Rochester Police Department, Rochester Public Utilities Minnesota Energy American Red Cross and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
