Florence M. Forsyth -- Rochester

ROCHESTER -- A memorial service for Florence M. Forsyth will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, Mo.

Mrs. Forsyth, 80, of Rochester, formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday (Nov. 30, 2005) at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester.

Florence Minnie Trapp was born Dec. 16, 1924, in Conde, S.D. She married James E. Forsyth on Feb. 26, 1946, in Conde. Her husband was a professional soldier in the Army, and they lived throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia during his military career. She was active in the military family community and carried that on into the military retirement community. Upon retirement in 1972, they settled in Springfield, where they resided until 2001. Her husband died July 26, 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline (Brad) Herman of Rochester; a son, James (Karen) Jr. of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lansford (Frances) Trapp of Brookings, S.D., and Raymond (Sarah) Trapp of Atlanta; and two sisters, Myrtle (Lowell) Styles of Redfield, S.D., and Doris (Don) Zimmermann of Glide, Ore. She was preceded in death by a brother.

Visitation will be an hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.


Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
