STEWARTVILLE -- The funeral for Frances M. Christenson will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville, with the Rev. Ron Allen officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville.
Mrs. Christenson, 92, of 106 Fourth St. N.E., N 205, Stewartville, a homemaker, died Saturday (April 13, 2002) at Stewartville Care Center, where she had lived the past two months.
Frances Margaret Klinepier was born March 30, 1910, in Mantorville, grew up on the family farm and attended rural schools. She graduated salutatorian of the Mantorville High School class of 1927, and after graduating from Winona Teachers College taught fifth grade through eighth grade in Spring Valley, Dexter, Waltham and White Bear Lake, Minn. On June 26, 1947, she married Reuben Christenson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed near Ostrander until 1969, when they retired and moved to Stewartville. Her husband died Sept. 13, 1976. Mrs. Christenson was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by nieces and nephews. A brother and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
