ROCHESTER — A funeral Mass for Francis L. Lawler will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Resurrection in Rochester, with the Revs. Thomas Loomis and James Kunz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Lawler, 83, a longtime electrician in Rochester, died Thursday (April 17, 2008) at Meadow Lakes Senior Living Center.
Francis Leo Lawler was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Rochester. During World War II, he served in the Army infantry in southern France. He was wounded twice and received a Purple Heart. For 43 years, Mr. Lawler was an electrician for Adair Electric in Rochester. He loved fishing and golf.
He is survived by his wife, the former LaVonne Ryan; a son, John (Lori) of Iowa, La.; a daughter, Kathleen (Scott) Tiede of Rochester; and a sister, Regina Kildahl of Rochester. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Anna and Courtney Kinnetz, Mia, Ava and Ike Tiede, and Leo Lawler. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester and an hour before the service Tuesday at Resurrection Catholic Church. There will be a Rosary at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.
