Frank C. Edwards -- St. Charles

ST. CHARLES -- The funeral for Frank C. Edwards will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. Michael Hart officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.

Mr. Edwards, 89, of St. Charles, a retired school custodian, died Saturday (July 12, 2003) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

He was born Oct. 13, 1913, in Utica. On Feb. 18, 1939, he married Bernice Nuszloch in Bethany, and they farmed near Utica until moving to St. Charles in the fall of 1959. Mr. Edwards then worked in several farm-related jobs and as a custodian at St. Charles Elementary School for more than 20 years. The last months of his life were spent at St. Charles Assisted Living. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles, served on the Utica School Board and enjoyed gardening, horses, baseball and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry (Maureen) of Faribault and Roger (Lee) of Wabasha; two daughters, Joanne (Larry) Small of St. Charles and Karen (Jack) Henry of Dover; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Curt (Kathryn) of St. Charles. Three brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Homes-St. Charles Chapel and an hour before service Wednesday at the church.
