Feb. 9-10: The March of Dimes' 24th annual Sno-Ball softball tournament is open to men's, women's and co-ed teams. Games will be played at Soldier's Field, Slatterly Park and Homestead Park, with headquarters at Brother's Bar and Grill, all in Rochester. The goal is to raise $4,000. Through Feb. 15: Hormel Employees Credit Union's Chain of Hearts campaign asks members, residents and area businesses to remember special people in their lives during the Valentine season. This is a fund-raiser for Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare, a Children's Miracle Network affiliate hospital. Those who donate will have the name of their loved ones displayed as part of the credit union's lobby decorations. Paper "links" bearing the names sell for $1 each.

Fund-raising programs

Rochester Catholic Schools annual appeal. Donations go to tuition assistance, technology, employee compensation, maintenance, and classroom and instructional enhancements. Gifts may be specifically targeted to two matching gift challenges: Tuition Scholarship Challenge in partnership with Lourdes Foundation with matching gifts from Lourdes alumnus Bob Conway for the Margaret and Robert M. Conway Scholarship Fund, and Technology Matching Gift Challenge in partnership with an anonymous benefactor to secure new technology assets for the school. The 2002 Olmsted County Historical Society Calendar, featuring trade and industry pictures from the collection at the Olmsted County History Center, is available at many local businesses and the historical society. The Mayo High School Class of 2002 Senior Party Committee has established a group through Current mail order company to buy wrapping paper, cards and knickknack through its Web site at www.currentfun.com. The Web site will ask for the state, then the name of the fund-raising organization. Click on Minnesota and Mayo High School Class of 2002.
