ZUMBROTA -- The funeral for Gail Alice McQuillen, 85, of Aberdeen, S.D., was today at Spitzer Funeral Home in Aberdeen. The Rev. Charles Emezie officiated and burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. McQuillen died on Monday (Sept. 15, 2003) at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.
Born Alice Gail Klug on May 11, 1918, in Zumbrota, she was a nurse in her early years. She had lived in Aberdeen for many years. She did volunteer work for the American Heart Association, League of Women Voters, Cub Scouts and the U.S. Census.
Survivors include seven children, James A. (Maggie) McQuillen of San Jose, Calif., Dave A. (Nancy) McQuillen of Aberdeen, Gordon E. (Linda) McQuillen of Madison, Wis., Susan A. (Neville) Bambrick of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, Jean Y. (Bill) DeLine and William C. (Evelyn) McQuillen, both of Aberdeen, and Daniel R. McQuillen of Springfield, S.D.; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Winifred Flynn and Mary Marie Peck, both of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff McQuillen, two daughters and a sister.
