Gayle Arlene Korsmo #x2013;; Rochester

ROCHESTER -- A funeral Mass for Gayle Arlene Korsmo, 71, of Rochester will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester, the Rev. Paul E. Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery here. There will be a memorial service at a later date in Arizona.

Mrs. Korsmo died Wednesday (Sept. 17, 2003) at her home. She had been ill with cancer for the past 2 1/2 years. Gayle Arlene Lenarz was born Jan. 20, 1932, in Noonan, N.D. She was reared in Minot, N.D., and later lived in Glendive, Mont., and Alexandria, Minn. She moved to Rochester in 1953, where she has since resided, spending winters in Rio Verde, Ariz. She married Owen J. Korsmo on April 30, 1955, in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He survives. She worked for KROC radio and KROC television. Her husband is a retired insurance agent. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and St. Dominics Catholic Church in Rio Verde, where she served on the church council.

Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey O. (Jennifer) and James M. (Laurie) both of Rochester and John R. (Dawn) of Fairmont, Minn.; six grandchildren; and a sister, Valerayne B. Bauer of Danbury, Wis.

Friends may call from 5 p .m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Macken Funeral Home and at the church one hour before the service..

The family prefers memorial to the Gayle and Owen Korsmo Scholarship Fund in care of Lourdes Foundation.
