AUSTIN -- The funeral for Gene C. Tollefson will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Mr. Tollefson, 76, of Austin died Thursday (Nov. 24, 2005) at Cedarview Care Center in Owatonna after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born July 26, 1929, in Waseca County, Minn. He attended school in New Richland, Minn. He married Marian Fischer on Feb. 3, 195,1 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. They moved to Austin in 1955, where he worked at Hormel Foods Corp. as a security guard from 1955 to 1980. He then became supervisor in the grocery products division until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. He enjoyed motorcycles, ice fishing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeffrey (Donna) of Austin; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley (Kathryn) of New Richland, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
